| The position is to join a dynamic team that provides piping and pipeline maintenance, integrity and isolation solutions to oil and gas facility operators. The project engineer is at the hub of the operation, liaising with the other departments to ensure deliveries are met and offshore operations are successfully completed. This can be a demanding role when working to tight deadlines in a busy vibrant environment.
STATS is a growing company, both geographically and technologically. As a project engineer you can expect to be involved in developing new technology and new markets. This role can also develop into a more operationally focused position for the more hands on engineer.
There is also a commercial and client facing function to this role, being involved from the quotation stage right through to invoicing.

| Main Responsibilities |
 |
• Day to day management of the engineering team, engineering schedule and prioritisation of work.
• Man management of the engineering team.
• Preparation of detailed drawings and drawing packages, including parts lists, MTO's (material take off lists), production of conceptual designs and detailed engineering analysis using available methods.
• Preparation of design specifications
• Writing specific analysis software when required
• Liasing with operations staff with respect to testing and assembly of equiptment
• Technical lead for client meetings and when required to identify design engineering requirements and processes to meet client needs. Responsible for delivery and agreed technical actions
• Carrying out site surveys, onshore and offshore
• Carrying out preliminary drawing checks to design engineers/drafters work
• Coach and assist other engineers in their role and to aid in the creation of training development plans in line with department objectives
• To plan, direct and co-ordinate activities of staff involved in developing proceedures, equiptment and techniques to address client requirements
• Accurately perceiving the key issues of the project and their effective communication to the client and the project team
• Drawing up a project work plan, allocating tasks to individuals, agreeing times and costs and ensuring that the work is completed on time and within budget
• Ensuring that all work is carried out to a high standard
• Co-ordinate activities of personnel conducting successive phases of problem analysis, solution proposals, engineering, assembly and testing
•Co-ordinate planning, testing and operating phases to complete project
• Review technical aspects of project to assist staff and assess productivity throughout company departments
• Agreeing subcontractors tasks, timings, costs and payment arrangement in writing
• Formulating and presenting interim and final results of the project, including preparing the final report when nesessary
• Analysing reports to evaluate program effectiveness and budgetary needs
• Maintaining good working relationships internally and externally with the client
• Reporting progress at project review meetings
• Alerting directors and other appropriate members of staff to significant problems regarding a project as soon as they become apparent
• Ensuring where possible that recommendations are implemented and that STATS obtains its full share of follow on work
• Ensuring that results and lessons are learned internally
• Approving all project expenditures within budget and passing approved invoices for payment explaining cost or time over runs
• Coaching project engineers; making sure they have they opportunities to learn and grow
• Taking responsibility for preparing /submitting high quality proposals for potential projects when requested by the directors to do so
• Taking part in periodic reviews of STATS performance on projects, with the aim of improving the services provided and the success of the company in obtaining assignments
• Maintaining ongoing links with previous key clients to understand their concerns/source oppertunities for further work
• Keeping abreast with developments in STATS and helping to ensure the compant remains seen as a leader in the field

| Qualifications |
 |
| • Degree qualification, HNC or strong operational or project background ideally from a mechanical trades discipline |
| • Chartered membership of ImechE or similar |
| |
| Experience / Competence / Skills / Knowledge |
 |
• Engineering and Management skills developed through several years of working in a multi-disciplined engineering environment
• Experience of working in the Oil and Gas industry
• IT skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, MS Project
• Knowledge of Microsoft AX system would be an advantage |
